The site was built in Lost Hills, CA which is on the very busy I-5 Highway corridor between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The site is almost 100% by Solar and Tesla Megapack batteries 🌞 | | | 🔗3 Links | Volvo and Polestar are launching V2H offering in North America with dcbel. Both annouced that their most recent EVs to hit the market, the Volvo EX90 and its cousing the Polestar 4, will support DC bi-directional charging. The vehicles will be capable of providing backup power in combination with the dcbel Ara charger. (V2H announcement by Volvo) The announcement comes two years after Volvo Cars invested in the Canadian charger manufacturer dcbel (Funding announcement).
| | Tesla is enabling 3rd party charging cards as payment methods at its European Supercharger network. For the past decade Tesla's network has not accepted any 3rd party roaming payments, now the flood gates have opened. Will we see wild price variance across charge cards for the Tesla network? The answer is most certainly yes. Make sure to always check whether ad-hoc pricing is cheaper for you.
| | Mercedes has published the EPA range numbers for its first next-gen EV, the electric Mercedes-Benz CLA. The CLA250 base version with rear-wheel drive achieved a total comined EPA range of 374 miles. It mainly competes with the base Tesla Model 3 Standard rear-wheel drive in North America, which comes in at 321 miles of EPA range (est.). While the Mercedes beat Tesla's mid-size sedan, it still comes short of the 420 miles of EPA range that Lucid's full-size Air Pure RWD base sedan offers. We're excited for real-world range tests pinning these vehicles against each other to see who meets, exceeds or underperforms their EPA ratings.
