| Perseverance and Endurance – Providing NRCS Drought Resilience in GA This year, USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Etowah Water and Sewer Authority (EWSA) celebrate 20 years of collaboration for the Russell Creek Reservoir Multipurpose project, which is sponsored by EWSA and currently in construction following the groundbreaking ceremony on April 17, 2025. The reservoir is a significant and innovative design for NRCS and Dawson County, Ga. The project serves as an agency "groundbreaker" — a template for future conservation sponsors experiencing similar water shortages in their growing communities. The project will increase water supply and prevent future floods. Learn more about the project and track its completion in our multimedia story. | | | |
