The World Bank's International Development Association (IDA) and Save the Children have partnered for over a decade across three continents, working together to deliver better outcomes for children. The partnership is transforming how communities invest in these critical early years, or a person’s human capital, thereby building pathways from vulnerability to opportunity. Read more.
Through strategic investments—such as redesigning primary care, scaling national health insurance programs, expanding the manufacture of critical health supplies, supporting regulatory reform for more private sector engagement, and training healthcare workers—the World Bank Group (WBG) is enabling countries to unlock economic potential. Achieving WBG's goal of reaching 1.5 billion people with quality and affordable health services will require smarter resource use, bold thinking, and strong partnerships. The World Bank Group (WBG) and four leading African think tanks jointly launched the Network for Impact in Africa (NIA), a new initiative designed to deepen operational collaboration and accelerate development outcomes across the continent. Its core purpose is twofold: to join forces in sharing practical global and local knowledge when engaging policymakers and to identify actionable, country-specific solutions that can accelerate impact. Read more.

World Bank Group Appoints Paschal Donohoe as Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer

The World Bank Group (WBG) announced the appointment of Paschal Donohoe as Managing Director and Chief Knowledge Officer. Donohoe has served as Ireland's Minister for Finance since January 2025, and as President of the Eurogroup of finance ministers since July 2020. His extensive experience spans both the public and private sectors, including nearly a decade at Procter & Gamble. Read more.


Building Resilience that Lasts: Game Changers for a Livable Planet

Storms, floods, heat, and droughts hit hardest those who have the least. When the soil cracks and the rivers dry, work disappears. Harnessing Digital Potential to Unlock Inclusive Growth and Job Creation

Skills Training Is Opening Opportunities for Millions of Young People in Africa

To address a gap in the workforce across Africa, the World Bank Group (WBG) launched the Skills for Jobs Policy Academy to share global evidence, innovations, and practical tools for effective skills development. Organized jointly with the Government of Kenya and the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA), the Academy took place in Nairobi, Kenya, between September 29 to October 3, 2025. Morocco’s Blue Future: How Aquaculture Can Power Growth and Jobs

Morocco is setting its sights on the sea. With its extensive coastline, rich marine ecosystems, and a growing global appetite for sustainable seafood, the Kingdom is turning to marine aquaculture as a new engine for growth, innovation and jobs. The World Bank is already supporting Morocco in building a climate-resilient Blue Economy through a $350 million Program for Results and a grant of $5 million from PROBLUE Multi-Donor Trust Fund.
